Frequently Asked Questions

If you have any questions that aren't answered here then please don't hesitate to contact me.

Where do you bake?

I bake from a commissary kitchen in El Cajon. My business is registered and licensed following regulations from the Department of Environmental Health and Quality Food and Housing of San Diego City and I am covered by Food Liability Insurance.

Do you cater for allergies?

I can cater for gluten free but please be aware that gluten products are produced in a commissary kitchen so I cannot guarantee that cakes have not come into contact with substances that may cause an allergic reaction. That goes for nuts too. Please be aware that I do not offer vegan, dairy free or egg free cakes.

Do you deliver?

We offer delivery within 10 miles of San Diego and fees starts from $85 depending on location and cake size. Please note that delivery of wedding cakes is highly recommended as it includes set-up of the cake at your venue, which is much less stressful for you! I will often travel with the cake in separate tiers and assemble it in site, adding the decoration and finishing touches once stacked.

Can I have fresh flowers on my cake?

Yes of course and I would recommend that they are sourced from your wedding florist. I will partner with your florist to make the necessary arrangements and I will ensure that the stems are made food safe before I arrange them on the cake. Please be mindful that some flower varieties are toxic and should not be used.

How much notice do you need?

Ideally, as much notice as possible as I am unable to hold your date without a booking fee, but I would suggest at least 2-4 months’ notice (6 months for peak season dates) is required for wedding cakes. I do limit the amount of orders I take, as I like to give each cake the attention and time it deserves so early booking is recommended to avoid disappointment. If you do need a last-minute cake then do contact me, I might be able to fit you in!

Can I make changes to my order once booked?

Yes of course. You can make changes to the design and flavors up to 4 weeks before the date on which your cake is required. If there’s a significant change to the design, which requires more or less time to create, then I will recalculate the final cost for you.
